FAQ

Here are answers to some common questions to provide full clarity and help you make the best decision for your family:

  • Each lesson is structured and interactive, built as an active dialogue, not a lecture. I keep students engaged through guided questions and discussion. We work together through a deliberately designed sequence of topics and problems, shaped around the student’s current level and goals, so understanding develops naturally and consistently.

A typical session begins with a homework review, where we go over any challenging problems until everything makes sense. Then we move on to new concepts, introduced gradually and reinforced through focused practice. Every few lessons, I include short gamified quizzes to boost problem-solving speed and confidence under time constraints. Over time, this approach helps students see connections between topics instead of treating math as a set of unrelated problems.

  • My focus is on helping students understand ideas step by step, rather than memorizing procedures. I encourage students to ask questions and share their ideas, guiding them to articulate their reasoning clearly.

I keep the pace steady, so students stay challenged without feeling overwhelmed. My lessons are intellectually engaging and always supportive, designed to make students feel a little smarter and more confident after every session.

  • Yes. Every lesson comes with a customized homework assignment based on what we’ve just covered. I review the work between sessions, which saves valuable lesson time and gives me immediate feedback on what clicked and what needs attention. I keep the workload reasonable and adjust the amount of practice to fit the student’s capacity and goals.

Homework review is fully included in the lesson package, along with a set of helpful study materials: key formulas, rules, and reference sheets that support long-term retention and confidence.

  • This is one of the most important aspects of my work. My first priority is always to create a safe and supportive environment.

I make it clear that no question is too simple or silly, and that making mistakes is a natural and essential part of the learning process. We celebrate small victories and build progress step-by-step, and students quickly find the confidence to participate, ask questions, and ultimately, enjoy math.

  • You will receive a brief update after each session outlining what we covered and how the student is doing.

You will also have access to:

    · a private digital folder with all our lesson notes and materials

    · a progress tracker that I update after each session, which highlights topics covered, areas of success, and our focus for future lessons.

And of course, I’m always available for a chat if you have any specific questions.

  • Online Sessions: I work with students across the US and internationally via Zoom, using a professional setup with an iPad as a digital whiteboard for a seamless, interactive experience.

In-Home Sessions: Available for families in Manhattan and nearby areas. Sessions in other parts of NYC may also be possible and can be discussed individually.

  • The standard session length is 60 minutes. For most students, meeting once a week works very well. It provides a solid pace for steady, consistent progress.

For families looking to make the most of our work, I recommend two sessions per week. This is what I consider the ideal maximum: it helps maintain momentum and deepen the effect without overwhelming the student.

In some cases, a third session may be helpful as a temporary measure (for example, during a busy period or right before an important test), but I don’t recommend it as a long-term routine, as the brain needs time to process and connect new ideas.

  • My goal is to create a consistent and productive learning rhythm for your child, but I understand that plans can change.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session rate, as that time has been reserved exclusively for you.

  • I accept all major payment methods, including Credit/Debit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bank Transfer (ACH), Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal.

Card payments are securely processed by Stripe, and a receipt is provided for every transaction.

  • Get In Touch. Reach out to me directly via email, text, or WhatsApp, or leave your email using this link, and I’ll follow up as soon as possible. We'll discuss your goals and arrange the introductory session.

Introductory Session. This 60-minute lesson is entirely risk-free. It includes a targeted assessment to identify key areas for improvement, set clear goals, and outline the next steps. It’s also a chance for you to see my teaching style in action. After the session, you’ll receive written notes summarizing what we covered and and my recommendations for moving forward. If you decide not to continue afterwards, you’ll receive a full refund.

Secure Your Slot. If we agree it's a great fit, we'll reserve a regular time slot. I work to provide a seamless, turn-key experience, handling all the session planning, material preparation, and progress tracking so you can focus on seeing your child thrive.
